Jim Burns

Jim is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist through NFPA. He’s seen buildings from cradle to grave during his 20 years working as a code consultant and as a fire inspector and investigator. Jim is a voting member of the Standing Committee on Fire Protection with the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes.

Jim has also sat on the boards of the Saskatchewan Chapter of the Canadian Fire Alarm Association and serving as the Regional Director for the Canadian Association of Fire Investigators. Following his passion for the fire and life safety industry Jim regularly contributes articles to the Kilo Lima Code Community at KiloLimaCode.com, including articles such as "Building a Better Fire Safety Plan", "7 Principles of Life Safety and The Missing 8th", and "Passive Fire Protection Systems Don't Get the Love They Deserve".
